The National Rifle Association, which held its annual meeting in Dallas in May, has filed a lawsuit against New York state officials claiming they are pressuring financial institutions to stop doing business with the organization.

The National Rifle Association says it could soon face a financial crisis that will force it to shut down some of its operations, including broadcasts by its NRA TV division. The gun rights group blames a campaign by Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo aimed at discouraging insurance companies and other financial institutions from doing business with the NRA.

The organization has filed a lawsuit against Cuomo and the New York State Department of Financial Services in federal court, alleging that Cuomo and state regulators seek to “deprive the NRA and its constituents of their First Amendment rights to speak freely about gun-related issues and defend the Second Amendment.”

Brian Mann, who reports for NPR and North Country Public Radio, says the suit claims Cuomo’s actions could “deprive the NRA” of banking, insurance and other financial services that are “essential to the NRA’s corporate existence.”

The NRA is asking for an immediate injunction to prevent state officials from “interfering with, terminating, or diminishing any of the NRA’s contracts and/or business relationships with any organizations.”

“If the NRA is unable to collect donations from its members, safeguard the assets endowed to it, apply its funds to cover media buys and other expenses integral to its political speech, and obtain basic corporate insurance coverage, it will be unable to exist as a not-for-profit or pursue its advocacy mission,” the lawsuit states. “Defendants seek to silence one of America’s oldest constitutional rights advocates. If their abuses are not enjoined, they will soon, substantially, succeed.”

The news that the NRA may be in financial woes is being cheered by student activists and survivors of recent mass shootings, like Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg. The advocates from Parkland, Fla., say the news is evidence “the young people are winning.”

“The NRA admitted in a recent court filing that it’s hurting financially thanks to activism by the teenage survivors of the Parkland school massacre”

“In New York, we won’t be intimidated by frivolous court actions from a group of lobbyists bent on chipping away at common sense gun safety laws that many responsible gun owners actually support,” the governor’s office said. “I am proud of my ‘F’ rating from the NRA, and I will continue to do everything I can to keep New Yorkers safe.”

But Cuomo also acknowledged that in April, he directed state regulators to “urge insurance companies, New York State-chartered banks, and other financial services companies licensed in New York to review any relationships they may have with the National Rifle Association.” Cuomo argued that such ties could “harm their corporate reputations and jeopardize public safety.”

In an email to NPR, the NRA said pressure from regulators amounts to a blacklisting effort. “The NRA has encountered serious difficulties obtaining corporate insurance coverage,” the email said. “If insurers remain afraid to transact with the NRA, there is a substantial risk that NRA TV will be forced to cease operating.”

In 2018, the group set fundraising records, and the NRA Political Victory fund took in $2.4 million in donations during the month of March alone, according to The Washington Post.

A lot of that money goes toward backing politicians that support the gun lobby. In 2016, the NRA spent $61 million backing current members of Congress, and President Trump received $31 million in advertising from the NRA during his campaign, according to USA Today.

In recent years, the NRA has expanded its media outreach, distributing highly-produced videos promoting gun ownership over the Internet and cable.

Many of the videos on the NRA TV service are also critical of the national news media.

Over the past week, protesters have gathered to march against gun violence. On Thursday in Chicago, activists demonstrated over a recent spike in homicides, according to The Independent.USA Today reports that on Friday, during a visit to western Kentucky, Oliver North, the incoming president of the NRA, was met by both “an enthusiastic welcome” and protesters who shouted, “Shame!”

Survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Fla., organized a demonstration for Saturday outside the headquarters of the NRA in Virginia.

The Washington Post reports that the “teens will be joined by activists, protesters and survivors of gun violence to protest the NRA’s role in blocking gun-control legislation and defending sales of guns such as the AR-15, the semiautomatic rifle used in the Parkland, Fla., massacre.”

Lawrence Nathaniel, 25, executive director of the National Organization for Change, told The Washington Post, “The NRA has the ability to be the organization that fights for Second Amendment rights while also fighting to protect each and every American citizen, but they choose not to. They would rather threaten and antagonize us than sit down and talk about how we can work together to make sure every American has a quality and safe life.”

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo Refuses Budget Until Abortion Made Legal Up to Birth – Faithwire

Author

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has said he will refuse to sign the state’s latest budget unless provisions are made to ensure abortion up to birth can be obtained by residents. In addition, he believes that terminations should be permitted for any reason.

Cuomo, speaking alongside Hillary Clinton at Barnard College in Manhattan, vowed that he would not pledge his support for the 2019-2020 state budget legislation unless the Reproductive Health Act and the Comprehensive Contraception Coverage Act are both approved by the state legislature.

According to the Reproductive Health Act, any woman who becomes pregnant has the “fundamental right to choose to carry the pregnancy to term, to give birth to a child or have an abortion.”

In addition, the legislation would also remove any reference to abortion from the state’s penal code.

The state legislature is expected to pass the bill on January 22, coinciding with the 46th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade.

“This is only the beginning of the protections that we will have for our women, for our environment, criminal-justice reform, education — the list goes on,” said Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins, D-Yonkers following the announcement, as reported by the Democrat & Chronicle. “But in January, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we will make our statement, we will make our mark.”

Pro-life campaigners are horrified by Cuomo’s promise.

“As many of you know, the Governor is pushing again for abortion through birth and even after with so-called ‘Reproductive Health Act.’ Now he has an anti-Life Democrat-led Senate to help him get it through,” New York State Right to Life campaign posted on Facebook.

In addition, the group issued a statement declaring that the legislation will “expose mothers to increased dangers by removing protections currently in New York statute.”

Current state law allows for abortion up to 24 weeks, but the new legislation would scrap that, and would instead permit the killing of unborn babies up to birth as long as the practitioner acts in “good faith.”

1,600 men voice support for Christine Blasey Ford in New York Times ad

A full-page advertisement in Wednesday’s New York Times features the names of 1,600 men with a banner message saying: “We believe Anita Hill. We also believe Christine Blasey Ford,” in a #MeToo era twist on a stand taken 27 years ago.

The crowd-funded ad is an echo of a similar one placed in the same newspaper in 1991, signed by 1,600 women in support of Anita Hill, who was giving her account in a hostile atmosphere on Capitol Hill of sexual harassment she said she suffered while working for Judge Clarence Thomas, who ended up being confirmed to the US supreme court.

On Thursday, Christine Blasey Ford, a professor in California, is due to testify before the Senate judiciary committee in Washington about her allegations that current supreme court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when he was 17 and she was 15, in high school.

Wednesday’s ad was organized by a feminist advocacy group called the Phenomenal Woman Action Campaign, named in tribute to the Maya Angelou poem Phenomenal Woman. The group put out a call online for funding over the weekend.

A note accompanying the main message says: “On November 17, 1991, 1,600 black women joined together and placed a full-page ad in the New York Times to support Professor Anita Hill when she faced backlash for accusing Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment … Today we follow in the footsteps of those courageous women.”

Ford came forward by writing first to her local congresswomen in California after Kavanaugh was named on a shortlist of judges to be nominated to the highest court by Donald Trump. She later identified herself publicly in an interview with the Washington Post, and has received a mix of support and – from Republican leaders – growing opposition on Capitol Hill. A second woman has also come forward publicly and a third may reveal herself before the hearing.

The ad continues: “As men who are allies in the fight to end violence and harassment against women and girls, we write to express our full support of Dr Christine Blasey Ford … we believe survivors and we call on all men of good will to stand with us.”

The message criticizes the “skepticism and ridicule” that frequently greet women who speak out, causing many to stay silent. And it demands that Ford’s story “is carefully and fully examined without bias or prejudice”.

At least one similar ad has appeared elsewhere.

The ad in the New York Times is presented in the same style as the one taken out in support of Hill in 1991. The names of the signatories are listed in small print around a central panel with the main message. It goes on to plead for a change in the culture, saying: “For decades, a culture of misogyny has allowed men to act with impunity and without consequence. We demand an end to that culture and we pledge to do our part in dismantling it.”

Attorneys representing Ford have sent to the judiciary committee sworn and signed declarations from four people who corroborate her claims of sexual assault by Kavanaugh, USA Today reported.

Ford alleges that in 1982 Kavanaugh and a friend corralled her into a room at a party and Kavanaugh violently pinned her down and tried to undress her, putting his hand over her mouth when she began screaming. He denies the allegations and has pledged to clear his name on Thursday.

On Wednesday, author Tayari Jones, who wrote the bestselling novel An American Marriage tweeted an image of the 1991 ad, which bore the banner: “African American Women In Defense of Ourselves” and said she had signed it at the time.

She tweeted: “27 years ago, 1600 black women took out a full page ad in the NYT to show support for Anita Hill. I was 20 years old. I put $25 toward the price of the ad and signed my name.”

September 19, 2018

Meanwhile, Anita Hill said the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing – with no FBI investigation and no witness testimony – is destined to be unfair, just as she and many others felt the Thomas hearing was, in an interview with the Associated Press on Tuesday evening.

But she declared optimism for the next wave of the women’s rights movement.

“A lot is different now,” Hill, 62, said of the year since the #MeToo movement against sexual assault and harassment was launched in 2017. “Remember, #MeToo is about raising awareness. Just because the Senate’s awareness hasn’t been raised, doesn’t mean that the rest of us haven’t evolved and learned.”

Senator Mitch McConnell Confronted at Restaurant by Angry Customers

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, was confronted Friday night by some angry diners who loudly berated him for his politics.

The Kentucky Senator was eating dinner with his wife at Havana Rumba in Louisville, when 4 men confronted Mitch. The main aggressor screams at McConnell, “Why don’t you get out of here?  Why don’t you leave the entire country?”

The woman who shot the video tells us, before she started recording, the main aggressor slammed his fists down on McConnell’s table, grabbed his doggie bag and threw the food out the door of the restaurant.

The woman says the main gripe seemed to be the Senator’s stance on Social Security and health care.  McConnell recently said entitlement programs are the main cause of massive debt. The woman says before she started shooting, the main aggressor was screaming that McConnell was killing people with his views.

McConnell kept his cool and afterward thanked some of his supporters, shaking their hands.

And there’s this … the woman who shot the video says before McConnell left there appeared to be some dispute over the bill. They talked to the waiter and restaurant manager and apparently resolved it.

In Brief

A terrorist attack in Aleppo on Saturday seems to have included chemical weapons, yet mainstream media has remained completely silent. Thankfully, there are no reports of deaths but more than 50 children and adults were hospitalized.

Chemical weapons attacks in Syria have been subjected to unstoppable, huge coverage from mainstream media outlets. So why is there no strange coverage of this attack? What is going on when what we see is fake and what’s real isn’t shown?

Since the inception of the ‘War on Terror’ many decades ago, mainstream media has completely failed to address the fact that the global ‘powers that be’, the ones who claim to be tackling this issue, actually created much of the terror in the first place. As shown by various declassified documents like this one, the global elite has a very close relationship with mainstream media, and has continued to control them even after the general public became aware of Operation Mockingbird, which details the CIA’s infiltration and influence over mainstream media.

It’s no secret that the media has been used as a tool of mass perception manipulation on various topics. If something happens that they don’t want the public to figure out they usually cover it in a manipulative, self-serving way. If they do not cover something, nobody is aware of it, and sometimes events will be planned and created and they will be scheduled to cover them. Mainstream media has lost the trust of many, especially when we have multiple award-winning journalists confirming these intelligence and corporate connections.

It’s completely fake in most cases, though perhaps not for all networks all the time. Information and media have always been controlled by a small group of people and the corporations they run, but the birth of social media platforms really popularized alternative media. Even more, outlets were spreading fake news with no sources, but others emerged and began divulging information that is clearly not in the best interests of the national security state that America has become. Credible sources were used. These outlets were labelled as ‘fake’ by Facebook & The US Government, they’ve since deleted thousands of pages from their platforms without warning. These outlets were blamed for Trump’s election, along with the Russians.

We are truly living in Orwellian times. There is a ministry of truth and those who oppose it are subjected to extreme censorship in various ways. Are we not allowed the right to think critically, examine sources, and decide for ourselves what we believe to be true or not? When there is so much information suppression, you know something is up.

Chemical Attack

Nothing is covered in the mainstream media if it opposes western interests. This is something we are seeing with the latest chemical attack in Syria. Targeted residential areas in Aleppo on Saturday night appear to have been hit with a chemical weapons attack. According to RT, at least 46 people, including 8 children, were hospitalized with symptoms of chlorine gas poisoning, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Multiple outlets are reporting different numbers, however. According to MinsPressnews

advertisement – learn more

The attack – which was confirmed by both pro-government and pro-opposition sources – left over 100 civilians hospitalized after the gas released by the mortars caused “difficulty breathing, eye inflammation, shivering and fainting,” according to the head of the Aleppo Doctors Syndicate, Zaher Batal, as cited by Reuters. Batal and other Aleppo doctors suspect that chlorine gas was the substance responsible for the symptoms of those affected….Despite the fact that chemical weapons were used by al Qaeda-linked militants in Idlib, the U.S. government and its allieshave thus far been silent about the recent attack – a starkly ifferent reponse from their bombing of Syria fter its government was falsely alleged to have used chemicals in April.

The attack was brought on by people affiliated with terrorist organizations.  And if you’ve read our work, we’ve provided a lot of information which suggests that these terrorist organizations are linked with, as well as funded by, multiple governments that make up the western military alliance.

The head-scratcher here is, why no coverage from Western mainstream media? With previous chemical weapons attacks, mainstream media jumped all over it, creating mass amounts of coverage and using horrible/disturbing images to do so. Only now, leaders across the pond, including Putin, are clearly labelling these as ‘false flag’ attacks. This comes long after alternative media outlets, various scholars, academics, politicians have been creating awareness about false flag terrorism (9/11 one of many examples throughout history).

This latest attack was not covered by Western media, because perhaps more people would look into it, and realize that it would simply expose the Western-backed terrorists as the true source of all the chemical weapons attacks. The whole western world was made aware of the two major attacks that occurred in Syria prior to this. However, getting covered the way they were made even more people believe that they were fake, as seen in the articles below.

Mainstream Silent

So where are the emergency UN Security Council sessions? The defiant establishment media op-eds? The retaliatory strikes against the perpetrators? Like 9/11, these events awaken us to mainstream media bias, and as a result the public simply become more aware.

There is abundant evidence suggesting that the previous attacks in Syria were false flags, orchestrated by the western ‘powers that be’ in order to assist them in the ‘intervention,’ take over, and installation of a government in Syria which suits their best interests.

Now false flag attacks can involve actual events where people are hurt, but there are simply lies behind what really happened. There are also completely fake, orchestrated events as well, which is what appeared to be the case in Syria in those two well-publicized attacks. According to global affairs analyst and founder of the 21st Century Wire Patrick Henningsen,

They don’t care, because the attack is coming from the wrong side, as it were. If you check the mainstream media coverage globally, it’s a non-event…The so-called rebels have the means, the motive and the opportunities to carry out chemical attacks against Syrians.

Moscow has launched a counter-retaliatory attack on the source of these attacks, based on a statement by the Russian Defence Ministry. The Russian Defence Ministry has also warned of more false flag attacks, depsite the fact that this one doesn’t appear to be one.

The Invisible Government

Currently, most or all attacks that are sparked by terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda and ISIS, and those affiliated with them, is by nature also affiliated with the western military alliance. War is perpetuated, and we only hear about it when it benefits the global agenda. But this global agenda is not sponsored by the leadership of western countries as such; it is promoted by a force that stands above the governments of nations:

Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day. – Thoedore Roosevelt

The statement above represents the reality of politics that has been outlined numerous times throughout history by various presidents and politicians in multiple countries. Here’s a North American example.  This is important to note because it represents what’s referred to today as the deep state. There are governments within governments, this also plays part in what happens internationally. Presidents do not call the shots, although they are made to look like it.

Donald Trump

We’ve written in-depth about Donald Trump’s presidency, and the clash he seems to be having with the Deep State. I’m mentioning this because when we talk about government connections to terrorist groups, we are usually referencing rogue parts of western governments that have amassed massive amounts of power. These are the powers usually behind false flag attacks, whether they are real or staged, and dominate the military industrial complex.

But things seem to be changing as Trump is appearing as a deep state disruptor, talking all about sex trafficking, vaccines, the Federal Reserve, and what really happened on 9/11. All other presidents have been puppets to these establishments. This does not mean we are a “Trump supporter” but it’s important to understand why he’s been vilified. This article explains it well. Leave judgement out and observe from an outsider perspective.

The Takeaway

The takeaway here is to recognize that war is perpetuated for ulterior motives. It’s not necessary at all, and all we receive from those we elect are explanations as to why it’s necessary. We’ve been brainwashed to accept it. We have to remember that politics has been in the hands of powerful people atop the financial pyramid, not the people. We clearly don’t live in a democracy, but the illusion of democracy.

The Middle East has all but been destroyed, millions of people have lost their lives and have been forced to flee to the Western world, now living in the heart of those who created the conflict in the first place. It’s extremely ironic, but that’s the goal of the elite. They invent imaginary and mythical threats to conquer the world and impose their will on others.

At the soul level, something much greater is going on. Those who have lost their lives and suffered are playing very heroic roles, presenting opportunities for the rest of us souls to wake up, and really figure out what is really going on. Because clearly, what’s presented is not always as it is, and in this case, the story is not presented at all.

New York explosion: 5 injured after man detonates pipe bomb

“Fortunately for us, the bomb partially detonated,” he said. “He did detonate it, but it did not fully have the effect that he was hoping for.”

Akayed Ullah was taken into custody Monday.

Akayed Ullah was taken into custody Monday.

Motive: Ullah told investigators he carried out the attack because of recent Israeli actions in Gaza, a law enforcement source said.

The suspect: In conversations with authorities, Ullah pledged allegiance to ISIS, according to one law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the investigation.

Prior credentials: Ullah held a Taxi & Limousine Commission license from March 2012 to March 2015, after which the license was not renewed, TLC spokesman Allan Fromberg said. It’s unclear “whether he drove for any particular base, or whether he simply got the license but didn’t drive at all,” Fromberg said.

Residency: He is of Bangladeshi descent and lives in Brooklyn, two law enforcement sources told CNN. Ullah came to the United States in 2011 on an F43 family immigrant visa, said Department of Homeland Security spokesman Tyler Houlton. He is now a lawful permanent resident.

What his neighbor says: Alan Butrico owns a Brooklyn building next to the home where he says Ullah lives with his family. He said Ullah lives in the basement, while his sister and brother live above him. “He wasn’t friendly at all. The family was very quiet themselves. They don’t talk to nobody. They just stay there,” he said, adding that his tenants reported hearing “screaming and yelling” coming from Ullah’s home the last two nights. The tenants did not call police, he said.

Type of device: Ullah wore an “improvised low-tech explosive device attached to his body,” which he intentionally detonated, Police Commissioner James O’Neill said. The device, a pipe bomb, was attached to Ullah with Velcro and zip ties, said John Miller, NYPD deputy commissioner of intelligence and counterterrorism.

How bomb was made: According to a senior New York law enforcement official and a city official being briefed on the investigation, Ullah told police he made the device in his home.

Suspect’s condition: Ullah is at Bellevue Hospital, where he is being treated for lacerations and burns to his hands and abdomen, New York City Fire Department Commissioner Daniel Nigro said. Five people were treated for minor injuries in area hospitals.

Akayed Ullah fell to the ground after the incident.

Suspect affiliations: It’s unclear if Ullah is linked to any terror organization. Authorities are investigating his pledge of loyalty to ISIS.

The blast detonated around 7:20 a.m. in an underground walkway connecting two subway lines beneath the bus terminal, which accommodates 220,000 passenger trips a day.

On grainy surveillance footage, commuters are seen walking through a tunnel when a burst of smoke erupts into the hallway, quickly filling it. Commuters flinch and take cover. When the smoke clears, a man can be seen lying on the ground in the hallway.

Francisco Ramirez said he was exiting a bus when he heard two blasts, even though he was wearing headphones.

“From what I saw it sounded like it came from the subway, but I’m just guessing,” he said. “It was two distinct explosions seconds from each other. As I was making my way toward the outside, I kept getting shoved by cops and there were cops at every entrance blocking and there was police and SWAT everywhere.

“It was scary. It was just a lot of chaos but I didn’t see any injuries.”

Marlyn Yu Sherlock was at a retail store on the main floor of the terminal when people began flooding out of the subway entrance, “screaming, running in panic,” she said.

“The PA system was still blaring Christmas carols,” Sherlock said. “It took about four minutes before men in black cop uniforms started shooing people out of Port Authority. As I walked further away from the building, I kept asking the heavily armed cops what it was. They said ‘suspicious package.'”

Mayor Bill de Blasio called the incident an “attempted terrorist attack” and said there were no credible, specific threats against the city at this moment.

Police Commissioner James O’Neill called it a “terror-related incident.” A key point of the investigation will be determining if the hallway is where Ullah intended to detonate the device, he said.

By Monday afternoon, all subway stations with direct access to the terminal were reopened. The passageway remained closed.

Firefighters arrive on the scene of the explosion on Monday.

Firefighters arrive on the scene of the explosion on Monday.

The incident comes a few weeks after a deadly terror attack in Lower Manhattan.

A man was charged with killing eight people and injuring a dozen others as he drove a pickup truck down a bicycle path near the World Trade Center on Halloween. He was arrested after the truck hit a school bus, stopping it in its tracks. He exited the vehicle and an officer shot him.

The suspect, Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, was indicted last month on murder and terror-related charges, the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said. Saipov pleaded not guilty to 22 federal counts.

The Halloween incident was the deadliest terror attack in New York City since the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center.

The incident came less than a year after a pressure cooker bomb went off in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood, wounding 30 people. A second pressure cooker bomb was found a few blocks away but didn’t detonate. In October, a jury convicted Ahmad Rahimi of eight federal charges in connection with the September 2016 incident.

A man wearing a homemade pipe bomb set off the explosive in a busy transit hub on Monday, injuring five and setting off panic during the morning commute.

Authorities said the explosion in a walkway below Port Authority Bus Terminal was an isolated attempted terrorist attack. Officials said the suspect, 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, pledged allegiance to ISIS and said he acted in response to Israeli actions in Gaza.

Investigators confirmed the suspect had at least two devices, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN. The device that detonated was a foot-long pipe that contained black powder, a battery, wiring, nails and screws. Investigators did not elaborate on the second device, the source said.

The explosive chemical ignited in the pipe but the pipe itself did not explode, lessening its impact, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.

CNN’s Kwegyirba Croffie, Brynn Gingras, Elizabeth Joseph, Eliza Mackintosh, Sonia Moghe, Shimon Prokupecz, David Shortell, AnneClaire Stapleton and Joe Sterling contributed to this report.

New York Times: Kushner likely paid almost no federal income taxes for years

The President’s son-in-law and adviser’s low tax bills resulted from a common tax-minimizing maneuver, and nothing in the documents suggests Kushner or his company at the time broke the law, the Times reported, citing confidential documents that it reviewed.

A spokesman for Kushner’s lawyer told the Times Kushner “paid all taxes due.”

The US tax code allows real estate investors like Kushner, whose family company, Kushner Companies, has spent billions of dollars on real estate over the past decade, to write off depreciation, or a property’s devaluation because of use or wear and tear.

The documents obtained by the Times show that, year after year, Kushner reported millions of dollars of losses, largely because of “significant depreciation,” which appeared to wipe out his taxable income.

The law regarding depreciation assumes that real estate values decline annually, although often property values actually increase. The provision is intended to shield real estate developers from having their investment value decrease from wear and tear on their buildings, but in practice it results in lucrative giveaways to developers.

Peter Mirijanian, a spokesman for Kushner’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, said “he would not respond to assumptions derived from documents that provide an incomplete picture and were ‘obtained in violation of the law and standard business confidentiality agreements. However, always following the advice of numerous attorneys and accountants, Mr. Kushner properly filed and paid all taxes due under the law and regulations,'” the Times reported.

Mirijanian added that Kushner “has avoided work that would pose any conflict of interest” about the tax legislation.

White House and Kushner Companies representatives didn’t respond to the Times’ requests for comment, the newspaper reported.

Trump dismissed that report, which the Times published on October 2, in a tweet, calling it a “very old, boring and often told hit piece,” though he did not directly dispute any of its findings.

Trump’s lawyer Charles Harder responded to the Times in a statement after the newspaper sent a description of its findings in the investigation.

“The New York Times’ allegations of fraud and tax evasion are 100 percent false, and highly defamatory,” Harder said, according to the paper. “There was no fraud or tax evasion by anyone. The facts upon which the Times bases its false allegations are extremely inaccurate.”

CNN’s Erica Orden and Cristina Alesci contributed to this report.

Woman Harasses Family for Speaking Spanish in Virginia Restaurant

A Latina woman was with family visiting from Guatemala when she says they were verbally harassed by a white woman for conversing in Spanish at a Virginia restaurant.

The family was confronted inside Andy’s restaurant in Lovettsville.

“She asked for passports; she said that she knew everybody in Loudoun County to get us out of here, and she started saying that we were supposed to speak English, but I’m like ‘we’re not talking to you,'” said the victim, who asked to remain anonymous. “They’re here visiting and they don’t know English, so how do you want them to speak English when they’re here just visiting?”

Part of the incident was caught on video.

Man Threatens to Call ICE on NYC Cafe Workers Speaking Spanish

[NATL-NY] Outrage Mounts Over White Man's Racial Rant at Midtown

A man buying lunch at a Midtown cafe threatened to call immigration enforcement on its workers — all because he heard them speaking Spanish. The woman who took video of his tirade tells News 4 what happened. Ray Villeda reports.

“You don’t freeload in this f—— country,” the woman is heard saying on the video. “You get the f— out, back to your f—— country.”

Police were called but no charges were filed.

The owner of the restaurant said the woman who harassed the family is not welcome back.

The Spanish-speaking victim said her 7-year-old daughter was present during the profanity-laced attack. She told Telemundo 44 that she is sharing her story because of her daughter and hopes that other victims of bias-motivated harassment also speak out.

“It’s not fair that they do this to us, and even less acceptable if there are children present. It’s not fair for any child to have to go through that. You just don’t do that,” the woman added.
